Hair Styling Without Hair Bow Tips

Sometimes you find yourself in a situation where you simply don’t have a hair bow. You might be sitting somewhere where you normally wouldn’t be, waiting, and your neck might be burning up. Or perhaps you’ve just misplaced your last hair bow (because we all know they nearly run away as soon as you set them down!) and really want your hair out of the way.

So the question is—what do you do when you need to put up your hair but you don’t have a hair bow?

Shoelaces. Shoelaces may not be the most conventional means of putting up your hair, but if you have a clean, unused one lying around, then you may find that it will do in a pinch.

Scarves are another wonderful option. You may not realize it, but a scarf can be a great, quick way to put up your hair in a snap. Small, silken scarves work a lot better than heavy duty scarves, but it’s best to simply use what you have when you have it.

Pencils and pens always work as well. You may not always have them on hand, but they can normally be found on anyone in the vicinity. Most people will give up a not so great pen that they don’t really need. And if you happen to be near a lottery booth, you may find that if you as the clerk that it’s perfectly alright if you use one of the little pencils, assuming that they don’t carry hair bows.
